Inspiring the next generation of Clinical Academics
This February, Southampton INSPIRE Academic Society (SIAS) will be hosting its fifth annual National Undergraduate Medical Research Conference.
We are entering an era of ever-increasing human life expectancy with more years on average spent in disability. Meanwhile the NHS is in an unprecedented funding crisis, and the looming spectre of a rationing of services is becoming closer to reality every day. At this time, continuing medical research is more important than ever if we are to solve the problems of delivering lifelong cost-effective healthcare.
To this end, it is crucial that the doctors of tomorrow understand the value of research, and so we invite you to join us for a day celebrating and showcasing medical student research from around the country. Rather than having talks on a theme as in previous years, this year the focus will be broad, emphasising student presentations of their own research and applauding the achievements of the aspiring clinical academics of tomorrow!
Whether you are looking for a chance to present your own research, want to engage with your peers alongside pioneers in diverse fields of medical research, or are interested in our range of workshops designed to improve your clinical and academic skills, be sure to join us in Southampton on the 9th February 2019 for an inspiring and unforgettable day!
Tickets available for purchase here (lunch and refreshments included in ticket price).
